Announcements: IRAHC radiology accepting all eligible DOD beneficiaries

Title

IRAHC radiology accepting all eligible DOD beneficiaries

Body

The radiology department at Ireland Army Health Clinic is now back to full capability and can see all eligible DOD beneficiaries.

All radiology services require a doctor's referral. X-Ray is the only service that currently allows for same day appointment. Approximate wait times for the others are: CT = 1 - 3 days; MRI = 4-10 days; Ultra Sound = 4-10 days; Bone Density = 1 - 3 days and Mammo = 7 days.

We do not offer 3D mammograms—all exams are 2D. Also, patients can no longer self-refer for their annual exams. Those must be through a PCM at least 365 days from their last mammography exam. Additionally, MRI and CT exams requiring IV contrast require labs, so plan accordingly. If you are bringing an orders from outside providers, please ensure the following are provided:
1. Providers name AND address.
2. Lab order *if with contrast *lab order type:(Chem 7 )
3. Phone / Fax number
4. NPI and DEA number (if new to our system)
5. What type of physician are they
6. Diagnosis / reason for study

Lastly, images are available for pick-up but must be picked up in person. The IRAHC RAD does not mail images to individuals—only to other treatment facilities. Anyone making an image request can come to radiology and fill out a release of information form. Any images taken in the last 7 years can be picked up immediately but older studies may take up to 2 business day to compile.
