ABOUT US

Mission Statement

Optimize wellness and military readiness of those entrusted to our care by providing exceptional, holistic, patient-centered health services with caring, compassion, and skill."

Vision

The premier regional system of health; exceeding patient expectations.

Statutory Authority

Ireland Army Community Hospital embraces the principles of e-government and encourages use of this Web site to promote the electronic dissemination of information to our beneficiaries under the authority of the United States Army, MEDCOM, and Northern Regional Medical Command.

Who We Are

The dedicated health care professionals of the United States Army Medical Department Activity (USA MEDDAC) at Fort Knox, Kentucky, are working together to provide our patients top quality health care and preventive services throughout six states (Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin).  We are proud of our health care system and proud to serve our nation's Soldiers and Families.

The hub of our activity is the Ireland Army Community Hospital (IACH) located at Fort Knox which serves the Fort Knox community with primary and specialty care providers for a population of almost 35,000 Soldiers, Family members, civilians and Retirees.

Members of the MEDDAC team also staff a troop medical clinic (Nelson TMC), Behavioral Health building, an Industrial Hygiene laboratory, and a medical SRP site. We also have an Optical Fabrication Laboratory that makes glasses and mask inserts for most of the Soldiers in the Eastern United States.  Our Optical Fabrication Laboratory supports Force Health Protection and combat readiness of the Armed Forces by providing timely, economical, worldwide fabrication and delivery of high quality eyewear.   The MEDDAC also supports one of the largest Warrior Transition Battalions in the Army.

Within Ireland Army Community Hospital's state area of responsibility, the MEDDAC serves the Active Duty population, many of whom are in isolated areas where they serve as recruiters and trainers.  To serve our troops outside the Fort Knox area, we have clinics in Kentucky, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois.

Much of the health care provided to our beneficiaries in our health service area are provided through the Department of Defense's health care program called TRICARE.  TRICARE is the military health plan that allows active duty Soldiers and their family members access to health services even though they are not near a military treatment facility or from a civilian network provider.

Ireland Army Community Hospital provides this website to the public as an automated tool for locating information related to our facility and services.  We strive to deliver the highest quality healthcare to our Soldiers, their Families, and the extended Army family.  Our leadership and staff understand the rapidly changing lifestyles of our beneficiaries and we have designed this website with your needs in mind.  We hop you find our website to be well organized, user-friendly and informative.  As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions, "Because We Care".

The entire staff of the USA MEDDAC at Fort Knox looks forward to serving you, our beneficiaries.  We are continuously working to improve our service to ensure you get the care you need in the environment that you deserve.
