Command Sergeant Major Felton is a native of Georgia. He entered the Army, in February 1983 as a 91B Combat Medic, completing Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina ' and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

His duty assignments consist of 4th Support Battalion, and the 45th MED in Hanau, Germany followed by the 502nd Infantry Regiment out of Fort Campbell, Ky. Following his assignment in Fort Campbell he was assigned as a Combat Medic in the 2/325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Fol­lowing that assignment, he worked as an Army Recruiter in New Or­leans, LA, followed by a position as a Career Advisor at HQ, PERSCOM in Alexandria, VA and stint as 1SG in the Sinai Desert with the 1st USASPT in El Gora. He continued his duties as a 1SG in Fort Belvoir, VA for the US Army MEDDAC. Shortly thereafter CSM Felton went to the US Army Sergeants Major Academy in Fort Bliss, Texas followed by an assignment at HQ 3rd Army in Fort McPherson, GA as a Medical NCO. From there he proceeded to take over the DDEMAC Troop Command in Fort Gordon, GA as the Command Sergeant Major. CSM Felton's de­ployment operations and combat tours consist of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, two separate tours in Kuwait and a tour as a First Sergeant in the Sinai Desert and Operation Unified Response, Haiti. During his career, CSM Felton has served in various positions such as Command Driver, Evacuation NCO, Squad Leader, Emergency Treat­ment NCO, Recruiter, Career Advisor, First Sergeant, Medical NCOIC, and Command Sergeant Major. His most recent assignment was as the Command Sergeant Major of the 44th Medical Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC.

CSM Felton's military and civilian education include Airborne School, Air Assault School, Advanced Airborne School also known as the prestigious Jumpmaster School, Primary Leadership Development Course, now known as the Warrior Leaders Course, BNCOC, ANCOC, First Sergeants Course and the Sergeants Major Academy. He currently holds an AA in Applied Science from Excelsior College out of New York.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal w/5 BOLC, the Joint Services Commendation Medal w/1BOLC, the Army Commendation Medal w/3 BOLC, the Army Achievement Medal w/5 BOLC, the Army Good Conduct Medal with 9 clasps, the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, four Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, the Multinational Forces and Observer Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, the Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Liberation Medals, the Driver Badge, Gold Recruiting Badge, Air Assault Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, and the Expert Field and Combat Field Medical Badges.
