The Red Cross needs volunteers for the following programs:

  • Helping Hands

  • Front Desk Receptionist at the Main Office

  • Baby Photo Chairperson and Baby Layette Chairperson for the Labor and Delivery department at Ireland Hospital

  • Helping Hands is located in Bldg. 77 behind the commissary.

 

C.N.A –Certified Nurse’s Aid Training

Minimum Age 16 years. If under 18 Must have forms signed by student and legal guardian or parent. In order to register for the C N A course, call and make an appointment with Lindsey Lowe, M-F between 8am – 2 pm.

Cost of tuition is $500 + cost of supplies (approximately $140)

Must complete a TB test. Background check will be completed during the class.

Health and Safety courses. (CPR, 1st Aid etc)

Minimum age not specified; must be physically able to execute chest compressions, and provide rescue breathing, able to pass the skill test. Registration for class is completed at the Red Cross main office on Fort Knox.

 

Scholarships

Partial Scholarships are offered to military dependents that hold an ID card. Scholarships are based on a first come first serve basis, and cover 50% of the tuition. Therefore, those who register for classes first, will have a better chance of receiving this financial aid. ((Very few scholarships available!!!))

 

Babysitting Certification

Course includes CPR and 1st Aid. For ages 11-15 years. In order to receive the certification course free, the child must have their Unit’s FRG leader, Commander, or 1st Sgt sign the scholarship request form and return to the Red Cross.
